Trauma Symposium

There will be two ‘masterclasses’ in surgical approaches during the symposium. Each will use fresh cadaveric material for live demonstration of surgical approaches in small groups.

Wednesday 19th August: Modern approaches to the shoulder.

This will be led by Mr C. Mike Robinson deltoidsplitand will focus on the sabre incision and deltoid split for proximal humeral fractures as well as ‘tips and tricks’ for more conventional approaches.

Space is limited to 20 attendees – early booking is recommended.

Friday 21st August: Approaches for complex knee trauma.

This will be led by Prof Cong-Feng Luo 3columnfrom Shanghai, who will demonstrate the approaches and techniques applicable to his “Three Column Theory” of tibial plateau fractures.

Instructional Course

There will be an anatomy afternoon for the attendees of the Instructional Course on Tuesday 18th August.

The principal surgical approaches in both upper and lower limb trauma will be demonstrated on freshly prepared cadaveric prosections to small groups in rotation.
