ACCOMMODATION PACKAGES

Accommodation in Edinburgh is at a premium during the busy summer Festival season, so please book early to ensure your place. Premium-quality campus-style and hotel packages at special rates are shown on this page, but are strictly subject to availability and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

 Pollock Halls University Campus Accommodation

A special Conference Package is available of superior en-suite twin rooms (single or double occupancy)  including full breakfast at Chancellor’s Court on the Edinburgh University’s Pollock Halls Campus, for 3 days (for Symposium delegates) or 5 days (for Instructional Course delegates), with free bus transport each morning to the venue. The Campus is located 1 mile (1.5km) from the city centre beside the spectacular Holyrood Park (see map opposite).  There is a charge for ethernet connection —ask at reception on arrival. TV in lounge within complex.

Please note that this accommodation is not suitable for family use.  Parking is very limited and cannot be guaranteed on site; it is offered on a first-come first-served basis. Staff will try to find you a space or direct you to the nearest public car park.

The rates for these packages are £270 single occupancy, £330 double occupancy for the 3-day Symposium package (14th to 16th August); or £450 single occupancy, £550 double occupancy for the 5-day Instructional Course package  (12th to 16th August). Other Accommodation

If you do not wish to use the Pollock accommodation, Room Centre are the official accommodation agency for the Symposium and have rooms reserved in the hotels shown below. Please note that these special prices are subject to limited availability and for bookings made before 30 June 2012; thereafter normal rates will apply. All rates are per night fully inclusive of VAT and full Scottish breakfast (except Apartments). Note that each hotel operates a CANCELLATION POLICY – please see the Room Centre form (Room Centre Form).

 

FOUNTAIN COURT APARTMENTS    Grove Street , 10 mins walk to venue

Secure accommodation with CCTV and entry phone. Each apartment has  lounge dining area, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine / drier, and bathrooms with bath & shower. Lounge has sofas, cable TV, broadband and direct-dial phone. Everything from bed linen & towels to hairdryer provided. Breakfast extra at £5 per person / day, must be ordered prior to arrival.  Apartments cleaned daily; car parking (complimentary)

POINT HOTEL   Bread Street, 5 mins walk to venue  

3 star hotel in the shadow of theEdinburghCastle.  The Restaurant and Monboddo bar offers a relaxed and informal ambience.

Rates:  £197.50 single,  £206 double

 

NOVOTEL EDINBURGH  Lauriston Place, 15 mins walk

Modern 4 star hotel featuring stylish spacious rooms and leisure facilities including indoor pool. In the heart of the city,  few minutes walk from EdinburghCastleand Princes Street. Limited car parking available (£10 per day)

Rates:  £165 single,  £175 double

 

ROXBURGHE HOTEL  Charlotte Square   (symposium  venue)

Newly refurbished traditional 4 star hotel in the heart of the original Georgian New Town, overlookingCharlotteSquareGardens
